Category A covers writers ages 13–17 in short story and poetry; Category B covers ages 18–25 in short story, poetry, and novel. Each category and genre winner receives CLP 1,600,000, while the jury may grant up to three CLP 350,000 special prizes per category and genre. Applicants must be Chilean nationals or foreign nationals holding a Chilean identity card and must submit unpublished work under a pseudonym.
