Fellowship
Nieman Fellowships
A year at Harvard for experienced working journalists to pursue a self-designed course of study and strengthen their journalism and leadership.
About this opportunity
Nieman Fellowships are for working journalists with at least five years of full-time media experience. Applicants submit essays, a professional profile and study proposal, work samples, and recommendations. The fellowship is not a writing residency; candidates explain how a year of study at Harvard will strengthen their journalism. The 2026-2027 intake is closed. Applications for 2027-2028 are scheduled to open in the first week of October 2026, with separate international and U.S. deadlines.
