Postdoctoral researchers embedded in an appropriate investigative group with mentor support for cardiovascular, cerebrovascular or brain-health research. At award activation, applicant must hold a post-baccalaureate PhD or equivalent, or doctoral-level clinical degree such as MD, DO, DVM, PharMD, DDS, DPh, or PhD in nursing, public health or other clinical health science. At award activation, awardee may not be pursuing a doctoral degree. No more than five years of research training or experience since doctoral-level degree, excluding clinical training. Not intended for individuals of faculty rank, except stated clinical-responsibility faculty condition. Awards limited to U.S.-based nonprofit institutions. Applicant must have one of the listed citizenship/immigration designations at proposal submission and maintain it during award. Applicant must be AHA Professional Member at proposal submission. 5-page research/training proposal, AHA Professional Membership, ProposalCentral submission, institutional representative signature, three reference letters, mentor/training plan, biosketch/personal statement and compliance with AHA application resources/policies.
