About this opportunity
Young scientific leaders and research teams hosted by accredited Kazakh scientific/research entities or autonomous educational organizations, proposing fundamental or applied research in one of seven national priority areas. Scientific lead must be a Kazakhstan resident and no older than 40 at application. Scientific lead must meet discipline-specific publication and experience requirements. Research-group members, including the lead, must generally be no older than 40. Up to 30% of non-lead team members may be Kazakhstan production engineers and/or qualifying foreign scientists. A lead may head at most one project and may participate in one additional project; non-lead members may join at most two projects. Prior winners of earlier young-scientist grant competitions cannot lead, except for the stated «Жас ғалым» exception. Applicant host must be an accredited scientific/scientific-technical activity entity or qualifying autonomous educational organization. Accredited host, Kazakhstan-resident scientific lead, age and publication qualifications, full research plan and budget, digital signatures from resident team members, partner contribution where applicable, and multi-year reporting/output obligations. Competition documentation caps requests at KZT 30 million per year for most fields and KZT 25 million per year for social sciences, humanities and arts.
